This coat had become so heavily matted that it was coming away in one piece, almost like a blanket.

While matting may look like tangled fur on the surface, it can be much more serious than that. Severe matting can pull tightly on the skin, cause discomfort, restrict movement, trap moisture, and sometimes hide skin conditions underneath.

But before anyone jumps to conclusions, we'd like to share something important.

Life happens.

Some dogs dislike being brushed.

And some coat types can become matted much faster than people realise.

This post is not about blame or judgement.

It's about education, awareness, and helping dogs stay comfortable.
