It is with great sadness that Thistle Football Club acknowledges the passing of our Life Member, Hec McKinnel.
Hec made an outstanding contribution to both our club and football throughout Southland.

A former Thistle Club Captain, he also coached Thistle teams and Southland junior representative sides, dedicating countless hours to developing players and the game he loved.

His commitment, leadership, and passion for football left a lasting legacy that will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and working with him.

On behalf of everyone at Thistle Football Club, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Hec's family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
Rest in peace, Hec. Your contribution to Thistle Football Club and Southland football will never be forgotten. 💙🤍
