Last week at EMP we had a call from a client reporting that they could smell gas outside their property. Gas leaks are rare, but in the event that you can smell gas it is important to act quickly. Here are a few steps that you should follow:
1. Turn off the gas supply immediately.
2. Call your gas provider in a safe area.
3. If it is safe enough open windows and doors in the house to ventilate the area.

Here are a few things not to do when you can smell gas:
1. Do not light matches or ci******es
2. Refrain from using your cellphone
3. Do not use any electrical appliances, this includes turning on or off light switches

In an emergency call 111 straight away.

Jade placed 3rd place in the Triple Peaks race in Havelock North last month! Along with enjoying beautiful views of New Zealand's wine country, Jade raced against 79 other passionate runners on the 55km track. All participation fees from the event went in support of the project which aims to sustain our native environment by the purchase and planting of native trees in Te Mata Park, Hawkes Bay.
