The Hastings NZ Meatball Festival was a hit!

We had more than 270 entries in our Guess the Lego Meatball competition and the correct number was 4007 Lego bricks!

We’ve contacted the three closest guesses (4001 and 4013) plus one spot‑prize winner. Congratulations to Henry, Huntah, Elvis and Ryan!

Did your child enter the colouring‑in competition or take a sheet home? There’s still time to enter. Drop off the completed colouring‑in sheet at the TW office by this Friday to get them in the draw to win a Lego set. We’ve got first, second and third place up for grabs.

How fitting to end Women in Construction Week on International Women's Day!

Today we’re shining a spotlight on Lauren, recently promoted to Commercial Manager at TW Construction.

Lauren’s role is all about accuracy and accountability. She works closely with the Quantity Surveying team, reporting final numbers and ensuring everything stacks up correctly, a key part of keeping projects on track.

Her path into construction began unexpectedly, starting with a temp job inputting invoices. From there, she found herself working alongside the Commercial team and discovered she loved the pace and energy of the industry. With three kids under three, Lauren decided it was time to do something for herself, so she enrolled in night school and never looked back.

Lauren wishes more people knew that construction isn’t just about being on the tools. There’s a huge range of roles and endless opportunities to learn, grow, and develop your career.

"There are so many influential women in construction that inspire the next generation, find yourself in one and pass on the baton!” Her advice to women considering construction is to try different roles and follow what gives you the most energy. There are no gender‑specific jobs, go where you can see yourself thriving.

Thanks, Lauren! And to all 72 women within TW — Happy International Women's Day, and thank you for being a part of the team.

We are excited be involved in this project and to be working with Mana Ahuriri and Woolworths to bring a brand new, state-of-the-art supermarket to the Tamatea-Taradale area.

The new supermarket on Wharerangi Road will provide more shopping options for the growing community, which currently doesn’t have a nearby Woolworths. This is our second supermarket development in Hawke’s Bay, following the Flaxmere Woolworths, which is due to open in the middle of this year.

The project is still in its early stages, and we look forward to sharing more updates as it progresses!

Last Friday, our teams came together to wrap up a month of Mo’s, movement and mental health in support of Movember.

We heard a powerful and personal reflection from one of our own as he shared his mental health journey, and we celebrated all the Mo’ growers and Mo’vers who got involved across the business.

Competition was tight across our five categories, but the winners were all well-deserving. Congratulations to Dan from our Property team, crowned our 2025 Mo Bro of the Year!

A big thank you to our sponsors for backing this year’s Movember initiative: Mr. Andrews Barbershop, Rodd and Gunn, Mitre 10, Resene, Carters, Plumbing World, JA Russell, McFall Fuel, Bayswater Vehicles and Roadsigns & Traffic Control Equipment Ltd - RTL .
