Wow! I just tuned into the Expanded States World Summit to listing to Deepak Chropra's opening talk. So many gems, but his final message spoke so deeply to me as it is exactly what I've been working on within myself and preparing to share with others through the breathwork sessions that I am developing at the moment.
Asked by the interviewer, "How do you see a possibility for this occurring with all that we know now?"
Deepak replies:
"If a number of people, critical mass of people, were enjoying full of experience every day. And I've tried to summarize these four elements and four simple statements, which also have become part of our ritual for meditation.
So these four experiences:
Number one, joyful, energetic body. Number two, loving, compassionate heart. Number three, the quiet, creative mind. And number four, lightness of being, or joy, the most important return to the state of innocence, if enough of these experiences were happening in the world, a critical mass with a joyful, energetic body, loving, compassionate heart, clear, reflective, creative mind and joy, we would have a world that would be more peaceful, just sustainable, healthier and joyful.
The worst use of our imagination. The worst use of our imagination is the stress that comes from the separate mind. It has created nuclear weapons, biological cyber warfare, poison in our food chain, contamination of the environment, climate change, mechanized ways of killing each other and extinction of species and loss of joy.
Loss of joy, which is our fundamental state. Every child is full of joy. We call them bundles of joy. When we lose that, we have lost our humanity. So right now is either we sleep walk to extinction, or we wake up and help each other create a more joyful, more peaceful and healthier world. It's our choice."
What more can we say? 💥

Celebrating International Yoga Day today! While I didn’t plan anything for the day as I’m in the midst of a construction project at Koru Centre. Amusingly, the celebration came to me. I received a shipment from Eco Yoga Store containing the Manduka X yoga mats, luxurious wool blankets, and various props for the new studio that’s in development. I’m so grateful for the outstanding service Eco Yoga Store provides, sending out thanks to Martin. 🤩
After unpacking the shipment and trying out the goods, I opened my email to find a newsletter from Eco Yoga Store with an excerpt from Peter Sterios’s book Gravity & Grace.
For me it was such a blessing to receive and read as the passage is centred around breathwork practice. I’ve recently commenced training with Soma Breath, so Peter’s take on breathwork was of particular interest to me. I had the great honor and pleasure of having 1:1 sessions with Peter when he lived in Nelson. I love that he keeps showing up as my teacher even in his absence. I’m looking forward to drawing from Peter’s experience in my own breathwork practice. I rember how I felt so changed by his guidance around back breathing, it seems to allow us to access so much more of of our capacity. I’m curious to see the effect of the sequence he suggests. If your curiosity is peaked, follow the link below to read the excerpt.✨
If you’re inspired to pick up a copy, you’ll find Gravity & Grace at Page and Blackmore across the street from Koru Studio. It’s so much more than a book about yoga!
Peter Sterios - Gravity & Grace You all know that we have a great affinity to Manduka yoga products here at Eco Yoga Store, we’ve been bringing them to you since 2008, and we know from your feedback that you love them too, but what you probably don’t know is that the founder of Manduka, Peter Sterios, has written his first yog...
