Big shout out to Ben at Action Engineering Tasman Ltd. for coming to the rescue on one of our jobs today. πŸ‘

We were working on a rural property carrying out retaining wall works when, during excavation and unearthing the area that required retaining, it became very clear that the existing sewer system was in dire need of repair and a full upgrade. We took on this part of the project as well, including the installation of a new manhole for the septic tank wastewater system.

This was a very challenging site with difficult access, only allowing small vehicles onto the property and limited room for machinery and lifting equipment. The new manhole unit weighed approximately 2 tonne, and getting it safely into position was no easy task.

Ben arrived with his compact mobile spider crane and made the whole process look easy. Despite being such a compact unit, this crane has lifting capabilities of up to 3 tonne and can be transported easily to and from site. Once positioned, the crane expands into a highly stable lifting platform capable of handling technical lifts in extremely tight spaces.

We were able to lift the entire manhole unit directly off the back of our small tipper truck and place it in one piece straight down into the prepared hole, ready to be connected into the wastewater system.

The versatility of this machine is seriously impressive β€” it can fit through narrow accessways of around 1 metre wide and operate in areas where standard cranes simply can’t go.

Thanks again Ben for answering our distress call at short notice and helping make this complex job run smoothly. We highly recommend Action Engineering Tasman LTD and Ben’s spider crane services to anyone needing lifting solutions in tight or difficult access areas.

If you need specialised lifting done, give Ben and the team at Action Engineering a call. πŸ‘

Digging and trenching works

We were tasked with helping the Chorus fibre optic team install a new fibre optic line β€” taking on 3 kilometres of trenching through tough, rocky granite substrate along a shared driveway.

Definitely not easy going, but with the right gear and experience we powered through it, completing the full trench and backfilling ready for the next stage.

Helping our clients gain connection in remote areas β€” that’s what it’s all about πŸ‘Œ

Another solid job done βœ”οΈ

If you’ve got a trench that needs digging for power cables, drainage pipes, or other utility services β€” get in touch with the team at Kiwi Excavations, with the experience and know-how to get it done right.

Talk to us today about how we can help.
