Having spent much of 2026 side-hustling as a tourism operator in the adventure capital of the world I've learnt that whilst my product is unique (and world class), I am still simply competing for people's time alongside, jet boats, bungy jumps, heli flights, wine tours, hot pools, free scenery and everything else our district has to offer.

I've realised that quality isn’t the finish line, it’s merely the starting point. Marketing is hard and it's a never-ending learning curve, because attention keeps moving and the bar keeps rising. When it comes to being heard, there's always a new barrier, or a new opportunity to communicating your value and securing new customers.

Because in Queenstown, attention is the real currency, experiences are just how people choose to spend it. 🏔️
