While I’m figuring out a new plan for the downstairs, the show must go on upstairs! Removing old batts is always a really gross job, but it’s gotta be done before I can take down the ceiling tiles…. Now that bit I’m looking forward to!
The prep has been done, now for the fun part! The first coat on these walls (pre washed, filled, sanded and washed again) is the Precision High Opacity Stain Blocker and I used a brush to apply. Both are amazing products - the stain blocker is oil based so a bit stinky (so I wore gloves and a mask most of the time) but is so good at its job! The stain on the timber does not stand a chance of leaching through into the paint with this stuff. Highly recommend!
Now the hard work of prepping the walls is done, it’s time for the first coat of paint, which is the High Opacity Stain Blocker. It’s an oil based product so it’s a bit fumey, but boy oh boy it’s good at its job! I can’t wait to start this transformation!
