So this it what it looks like at the top of an active volcano! This is the red crater at the top of mount Tongariro on the Tongariro crossing. Another part of the mountain was erupting at the time and the air was extremely sulphurous. Oh yeh, and that's Mount Doom off of the Lord Of The Rings in the background!

Here comes another one! This was taken at the edge of the Ho**er Glacier Lake at the base of Mount Cook. An amazing walk down the ho**er valley takes you to this spectacular iceberg filled lake.
