Pathways Kindergarten Rotorua
Children at Pathways Kindergarten experience a natural environment where they can play and create.
Sometimes the most important learning happens one marble at a time ... 🌀
Carefully following each marble tumbling down the track with her eyes, this tamaiti is developing eye tracking skills - the ability to visually follow a moving object from one place to another. This skill begins developing from a very young age and is an important foundation for future learning.
For children as young as two, activities like this help strengthen visual attention, concentration, coordination, and the ability to track movement smoothly. These early foundations later support literacy skills such as following words across a page when reading and writing. They also support mathematical thinking by helping children track patterns, follow sequences, and visually organise information.
As they watch, wait, predict, and delight in where the marble will go next, they are building essential pre-literacy and pre-numeracy skills through wonder, repetition and hands-on play 💛
