A huge mihi to the incredible collective behind Tērā te Auahi - the talented artists, performers, creatives and especially our rangatahi who brought this story to life on the stage of the Sir Howard Morrison Centre.

With seven sold-out performances, three school matinees and 5,980 attendees, this production has inspired audiences, captured national attention and showcased the strength of our people, culture and creativity.

The Sir Howard Morrison Centre was filled with waiata, haka and kōrero as students, staff, whānau and supporters came together throughout the festival - culminating in Rotorua Boys' High School being named the 2026 champions.

A proud moment for the kura and a powerful reminder of the talent, culture and connection that continues to thrive here in Rotorua.

Hailing from Auckland, Borderline is Ben Glanfield [guitar, vocals, keys], Jackson Boswell [drums, vocals], Matthew McFadden [lead guitar], and Max Harries [bass, sax]. With the band’s debut album set to drop on June 26th, fans can expect to hear a collection of pop, rock and funk, fusing the quartet’s undeniable chemistry to deliver music you can groove to.
