Ngā mihi o te tau hou! (Happy New Year). We're officially back open, and our friendly team are ready to welcome you! 👋 Pop by, take your time exploring, and enjoy everything we have on offer.
Don’t forget, we’re hosting the incredible Rūaumoko: Restless Land exhibition from Te Papa until Wednesday, January 28, so now’s the time to check it out.
This hands-on, interactive exhibition dives into the powerful natural forces that shape Aotearoa. Step into the world of Rūaumoko, the god of earthquakes and volcanoes, and explore the shake table, get up close to real volcanic rock and tectonic plate models. It’s fascinating, family-friendly, and all about being prepared. We can’t wait to see you soon!

Got a project that could help protect or celebrate Waipā’s amazing environmental, cultural, or historical heritage? We want to hear from you!
Our Heritage Fund is now open, offering support for locals and community groups who are working hard to preserve the stories, places, and taonga that make our district so special.
Whether it’s restoring a heritage building, protecting precious objects, preserving native habitats, or caring for cultural or archaeological sites, we’re here to help bring your project to life.
