So this was us, this time last week, on our annual KA Camp at Waihi Beach. What was to be our shortest camp in a long time turned into our longest with a hiccup or two on the way home. Despite, what ended up an 8 hr bus trip complete with being caught in the traffic of a pretty serious accident, a flat tyre followed by a flat battery we made it home from our adventure and on balance had a pretty fun time based on feedback!
I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thanks to all our campers, they really were an amazing bunch and through all of this they never complained and got through smiling and laughing. Well done guys, we are super proud of you all.
To our director and leaders- Aron Tamaki-Woolly, Floyd Owen, Jordan Wellington, Brayden McCammon, Shea Redgate Joanna Sun, Luke Sun, Manaia Ngataki, Terry Ngataki and Harli Nicholas.
Without this fantastic and generous bunch of volunteers we would not be able to have a camp and definitely not have got through this one. They went above and beyond, having an extra unexpected very long day added to the itinerary they continued to put the kids first regardless of the setbacks they faced. There are not enough words to express our gratitude for what you all have done for us during our week away. So a massive THANK YOU and please know you are all very much appreciated. 🤗🤗
I'd like to make a special mention to Aron, who not only single handedly ran camp but also spent hours in the lead up preparing camp lists, letters, the activities and itinerary, and so much more of the very important behind the scenes stuff. Aron, my friend we truly are blessed to have a volunteer like you who has done so much for us and camp would not have happened without all of your mahi. He also stepped up under pressure and handled everything like a pro. We are super proud and super grateful to have you as our Director.Thank you so very much.
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Last but by no means least our mean kitchen crew, Sue, Michele and Kane. Ably led by Sue our kids were so well fed, and meals enjoyed that there was barely a scrap on a plate after each meal. A huge thanks to you all. 🙏🙏🙏
Camp is a team effort and I think we were a great team. 👏👏👏🤗🤗🤗
