If it can go wrong it will…

Ngā mihi to Hayden for chairing tonight’s meeting and bravely stepping into what can only be described as a theme with ambition: “If it can go wrong it will”, which, against all odds, behaved itself and turned into a genuinely lovely night with only the faintest whisper of disaster lurking in the background.

We enjoyed three speeches: Rachel admitted she can be just a touch hypocritical when it comes to taking her own advice (relatable, unsettling, moving on), Andrew served up “rebellious leadership” and somehow landed us all pondering the letter P, and Phil delighted us with a dive into the historical quirks of the weather, proving once again that meteorology can, in fact, be unexpectedly entertaining.

We were joined by guests Elena and visiting Area Director Dave, both of whom added to the evening’s already impressive sense of occasion.

And now, the moment of celebration:
Best Overall: Andrew
Most Improved: Phil
Best Table Topic: Dave
Best Evaluator: Rachel

Until next week, may the chaos be minimal and the speeches be excellent.

Kia Ora reader, you've been missed. Hope your Easter break was enjoyable and you dodged a bullet with this weekends weather. Dodge a bullet was the theme of tonight's UHTM meeting, wherein members were asked to tell stories and tales in the Table Topics part of the evening on or around that theme.
Our speakers gave three awesome speeches. I'd like to thank Ash Vincent for coming down from the Spinnaker Toastmasters Club to give us the speech he's presenting at next month's District 72 contest.
We had a few apologies for the evening, I'd like to wish those who are under the weather a speedy recovery.
We'd also like to welcome Ann back from her trip overseas, and for stepping in at the 11.59:58 hour to cover the Grammarians role. Word of the day - Idiom.... Who'd a thought it!? 😁
Right that's it from me, thanks again to all that attended. Ash good luck in your contest. Remember to check your flys 🤗
Our achievers were:
Most Improved - Sudhakar
Best Table Topics - Andrew
Best Evaluator - Karl
Best Overall - Ash
Till next time reader.
UHTM out!

Dear UHTM number one fan. Thanks for sticking with us. These posts need all the eyes we can get. Thanks for your two.
This evening Coos held the reins of running the club agenda.
A good turn out was had with just a couple of apologies given.
Our two awesome speeches covered the topic of the weather and its interpretation within Maori folklore, thanks Phil, and not putting things off by just getting started, thanks Bahadur.
Clever choice of Table Topics provided and controlled by Sudhakar. Which was his first time doing the role. These were met with equally interesting and witty stories from those that were voluntold to come to the floor.
The timing lights were described by Andrew using different coloured Easter eggs. I picked the wrong day to be a diabetic 😳.
Our achievers were:
Best Table Topics - Rachel
Best Evaluator - Karen
Most Improved - Sudhakar
Best Overall - Phil
That's it for this week. We wish you all the best over the Easter break. Remember to reduce it down to excessive!
