🌟 GET INVOLVED THIS JUNE 🌟

Building a stronger community doesn't always require a big commitment. Sometimes it starts with simply knowing your neighbours, checking in on someone who lives alone, attending a community event, or lending a helping hand when it's needed.

This month's Neighbourhood Support New Zealand theme is "Get Involved" – a reminder that connected communities are safer, stronger, and more resilient.

At Neighbourhood Support Rotorua, it has been fantastic to see more people stepping forward to become Street Contacts and play an active role in strengthening their neighbourhoods. Every connection made helps build a safer and more resilient community.

I would also like to acknowledge our incredible committee. What began as a governance role has evolved into much more. Alongside their own families, work commitments, and community responsibilities, they have willingly stepped into operational roles to help Neighbourhood Support Rotorua grow and thrive. They do this entirely as volunteers, giving their time, skills, and energy to support our community, and for that I am extremely grateful.

Whether you become a Street Contact, volunteer at an event, learn emergency preparedness skills, or simply take the time to get to know your neighbours, every contribution makes a difference.

Together, we are building stronger, safer, and more connected communities.

We’re absolutely thrilled to give a huge shout-out to Bunnings Warehouse for their incredible support of Neighbourhood Support Rotorua 💚

Thanks to their generosity, we now have all the tools we need to get our Neighbourhood Support signs up across our communities 🔨🪧

This might seem like a small thing—but it’s not.

Every sign that goes up is a signal that:
✔️ This is a connected neighbourhood
✔️ People look out for each other
✔️ Safety and community matter here

That’s powerful.

A special shout-out as well to Jeff, one of our awesome committee members, for helping drive this kaupapa forward and getting things happening on the ground 👏 You make a real difference!
