"Being a Support Worker is not to fix people. I'm trying to make a difference to Vikram's life."

Kevin shows support work with CCS Disability Action isn’t about clinical skills – it’s about people. He brings patience, a listening ear, and outside the box thinking to support Vikram's goals. Most days together are simply everyday life: making coffee, going on neighbourhood walks, chatting about shared interests. Those ordinary moments form meaningful bonds.

Sounds like a good match for you? Get in touch to start your support work journey.

Rus and Shannon arrived at CCS Disability Action Whangārei separately, within months of each other. Each wanted the same thing: a way out of the house and into the world.

They found it at the Clothing Barn, sorting donated clothes ready to be gifted to the community. Volunteering gave Rus community, confidence, and a path into paid work. It gave Shannon independence and connection. Somewhere along the way, the two of them became friends.

You can read more about Rus and Shannon's story on our website – link in the comments.
