Amazonian Expeditions

New for 2020! We will be introducing new trips we are currently calling "Base Camp Boat Tours". These will be privately guided 5-10 day river trips by outboard motor between Atalaya (Manu National Park), the Manu Reserve Zone (Boca Manu), Boca Colorado and Puerto Maldonado on the Madre de Dios River. In addition to your private transfer (3-4 hrs per day) you will enjoy a personal chef, group dining mesh tent and your own personal hammock sleeping quarters. At each campsite we will have options for jungle hikes, oxbow lake exploration by packraft, fishing and night walks.

The problem with traditional lodges: Clearing forest to make room for a rainforest lodge rids the area of of the flora and fauna you're after and as more people visit a lodge more animals retreat into the forest.

The solution: Camping in the forest provides the best way to see unsuspecting wildlife and staying mobile gives you the best chance of experiencing various zones, niches and habitats preferred by different species.
