📣 Last month, UTEC had the pleasure of hosting Mariana Cabrera, Program Officer of the 100,000 Strong in the Americas Innovation Fund. The purpose of this visit was to learn more about the impact that the 2018 winning project had on participating students.

📢 Raziya Hillery will work with UTEC as an English Teaching Assistant (ETA) until December through the Fulbright Commission 👏 While here, she will host various English workshops, host English club events, and share American culture and English learning tips. Raziya is excited to connect with students, faculty, and staff and to encourage mutual cultural exchange with the UTEC community 🥳

Raziya recently graduated from Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana where she studied political science, international studies, and Spanish. She brings three years of experience in government to her role as an ETA. She has worked with the Indianapolis Mayor, the Dominican Republic’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the United Nations Headquarters. Her passion is with community service, so she is involved with various non-governmental organizations that promote human rights. In her free time, Raziya enjoys gardening, cooking, skating, and shopping. Raziya proudly calls Houston, Texas home 🇺🇲

📢Register in Biodesign and Innovation!

Biodesign primarily aims to identify new solutions to health challenges, using approaches centered on user needs and practical implementation of ideas. In this course, the student will explore real-world problems, including those related to epidemics and pandemics caused by respiratory viruses and problems posed such as with rapid diagnostics and patient care; implants, prostheses and orthotics, and others to elaborate Design Thinking concepts and develop innovative ideas. Concepts of bioengineering, molecular biology, diagnostic methods and biomedical manufacturing; entrepreneurship, innovation management, and regulatory aspects are presented to the students.
