On February 14, 2026, ASAPEC (Peruvian-Korean Academic Association) had the honor of participating as a special guest organization at the Grand Reunion 2026 organized by the Ethiopian Students Association in Korea (ESAK) in Seoul.

The event brought together Ethiopian students and community members in South Korea with the goal of strengthening unity, cultural exchange, and collaboration among international communities. During the opening ceremony, ESAK President Dr. Eden Demere highlighted the association’s mission and its commitment to supporting Ethiopian students in Korea. The event also featured a congratulatory message from Mr. Kim Sol, President of International World in Korea (IWIK), and the distinguished presence of H.E. Ambassador Dessie Dalkie Dukamo.

One of the most meaningful moments of the gathering was the Traditional Ethiopian Coffee Ceremony, which provided a warm space for cultural exchange and networking among participants. ESAK also introduced its Mental Health Program, reaffirming its commitment to the well-being of its members.

ASAPEC’s participation in this event represents an important step toward strengthening intercultural cooperation among international student associations in Korea, while promoting future academic, cultural, and community collaborations.

El día 6 de febrero 2026 se llevó a cabo la ceremonia conmemorativa del acuerdo de colaboración entre ASAPEC, firma representada por Yanymee Guillen, presidenta de la Peruvian-Korean Academic Association, y The Korea Times, representado por Ahn Seong-jin, Project Manager de la organización, en la Embajada del Perú en la República de Corea, en presencia del Embajador del Perú en Corea, Paul Duclos.

Este acuerdo permitirá fortalecer la visibilidad de las actividades que desarrollará ASAPEC, así como promover las iniciativas de The Korea Times , facilitando un mayor acercamiento de estudiantes y académicos peruanos a la información, eventos y oportunidades vinculadas con Corea del Sur.

Expresamos nuestro sincero agradecimiento a nuestra Embajada del Perú en Corea por su constante apoyo en cada paso del crecimiento y consolidación de ASAPEC.

On February 6, the ceremony commemorating the collaborative agreement between ASAPEC, represented by Yanymee Guillen, President of the Peruvian-Korean Academic Association, and The Korea Times, represented by Ahn Seong-jin, Project Manager of the organization, was held at the Embassy of Peru in the Republic of Korea, in the presence of the Peruvian Ambassador to Korea, Paul Duclos.

This agreement will strengthen the visibility of ASAPEC’s activities while also promoting the initiatives of The Korea Times, enabling closer access for Peruvian students and academics to information, events, and opportunities related to South Korea.

2월 6일, ASAPEC(페루-한국 학술협회)과 The Korea Times 간의 협력 협약 체결 기념식이 주한 페루 대사관에서 개최되었습니다.
본 행사에는 ASAPEC 회장 야니미 길렌(Yanymee Guillen)과The Korea Times 프로젝트 매니저 안성진(Ahn Seong-jin)이 참석했으며, 주한 페루 대사 폴 두클로스(Paul Duclos)의 임석 하에 진행되었습니다.

El 22 de enero del 2026, algunos miembros de ASAPEC asistieron al New Year Gugak Concert, un evento cultural dedicado a la interpretación de música tradicional coreana mediante el uso de instrumentos ancestrales. Durante la presentación, se mostró un panorama representativo de los espectáculos de la era Joseon, integrando música, canto y elementos teatrales que recreaban el ambiente artístico de aquella época. Los shows ofrecieron una experiencia inmersiva que permitió comprender mejor la riqueza histórica y cultural de Corea. Este encuentro resultó especialmente emotivo, ya que transmitió energía positiva, motivación y buenas vibras a todos los asistentes, convirtiéndose en una forma significativa de iniciar el año 2026 con optimismo. Asimismo, la actividad fortaleció el sentido de identidad cultural, promovió el respeto intercultural y reforzó el compromiso del grupo con el aprendizaje y la valoración de las tradiciones, dejando una impresión profunda y duradera en cada uno de sus participantes.

On January 22, 2026, some members of ASAPEC attended the New Year Gugak Concert, a cultural event dedicated to the performance of traditional Korean music through the use of ancestral instruments. During the presentation, a representative overview of performances from the Joseon era was displayed, integrating music, singing, and theatrical elements that recreated the artistic atmosphere of that period. The shows offered an immersive experience that allowed participants to better understand Korea’s historical and cultural richness. This encounter proved to be especially moving, as it conveyed positive energy, motivation, and optimism to all attendees, becoming a meaningful way to begin the year 2026. Furthermore, the activity strengthened cultural identity, promoted intercultural respect, and reinforced the group’s commitment to learning and valuing traditions, leaving a deep and lasting impression on each participant.
