7 Keys for Attention Development

Frankfurt Germany was an unexpected stop that turned out wonderfully! Last time I was in Germany there was West and East Germany and I went through check point Charlie with my kids, Ariel and Springsong. A lot has changed in 30 years and the country has truly thrived. I loved visiting the Old Town that is really a New Old Town as most all of it was demolished in WWII. I was fortunate to attend an InterNations event in a lovely bar to make new friends. ,

I was lit with excitement flying to Tromso, Norway, 350km north of the Arctic Circle, to chase the Aurora Borealis, aka Northern Lights. The adventure of chasing them in the Arctic Circle was irresistible. Each night I would head North with my tour guides “Marianne’s Heaven on Earth Aurora Chaser Tours, a remarkable woman with burning passion for the Aurora. Her and Govind were a great team. With a small group of seekers, we drove hours searching for openings in the cloudy skies. We were successful every night. Sometimes we drove deep into Finland to spend hours in freezing temperatures. I wore 5 layers of thermal clothes and comfortably hung around with others from all over the world, until 3 or 4 am. It was an exhilarating quest. The hot soup and hot chocolates were delicious and the green, blue and orange campfire, magical. , , , ,

My trip to Iceland wouldn't be complete without experiencing the world, renowned geothermal spa of the Blue Lagoon, amidst a black lava field; one of the 25 wonders of the world. Because of the closeness to recent volcanic eruptions and lava flows, it was closed for a few weeks but had just reopened. A fresh lava field surrounded the area and had finally cooled off. Our experience included doing three facial masks to exfoliate, detoxify and revitalize our faces while bathing with a few drinks as we relaxed for hours. This included spa facilities of steam bath and sauna beneath the vibrant blue skies. My body’s pores delighted in a day of tranquility finalized with a cold plunge shower. It was a lovely day of revitalization.

I wonder if perhaps it's time to utilize the effective technique used in Poland in 1989 to unseat the existing political establishment by placing "None of the Above" on every ballot? This is how L**h Walesa ended Communist rule and ended the cold war. I was in Warsaw that day doing interviews for my then radio show and was amazed how the country was reborn by this addition to the ballot. Maybe this can break the choke hold of our two-party system that dominates our government to bring in new life, fresh new perspectives that say no to BOTH candidates, neither of which will be here to harvest the results of their administrations. Enough cronyism and control by the old guard, its time voters have a real choice to create a new future that is not in the hands of those past their expiration dates! Who knows, maybe term limitations on our Congress can be next?
