my kind of weekend reset... 🏔️🎣☀️⛺️✨
National park Crowds < Quiet Mountain towns
This is your reminder that there are still first come first service campsites, empty hiking trails, and peaceful days outside in California.. you just have to know where to find them. Get on Google Maps and start exploring areas you're not familiar with, drive around areas that interest you and look for swimming holes + campsites, read blogs.. I promise the satisfaction of finding these special places on your own and knowing so little people hold the key to get there is unmatched.

Summer road trip inso!! 🚙🌲🌞🥾🌀
📍Kings Canyon National Park
(homelands of the Mono (Monache), Yokuts, Tübatulabal, Paiute, and Western Shoshone)
Did you know that Kings Canyon is one of north americas deepest canyons and home the worlds second largest tree? At over 8,000ft from top to bottom, it's actually deeper than the Grand Canyon!!! Talk about a place to make you feel small🥹
King's Canyon is a sister park to Sequoia National Park and together they protect the world's largest remaining natural groves of sequoia trees. Kings Canyon only sees a small fraction of the visitors Sequoia does but it's absolutely worth the trip! This area is much less developed compared to other national parks and has little to no services so you'll want to come prepared. Do your research and be bear aware!! 🐻
As always, please remember to recreate responsibly and leave no trace🌎🤍

Didn't get a half dome permit this year? Join the club👀 The good news is Yosemite has plenty of other beautiful trails that are just as good, if not better!
I'll be sharing some of my favorite day hikes in the park over the next couple weeks. Next up, Glen Aulin🐻🌲
📍Glen Aulin
Distance: 11.5 miles
Elevation: 1,148ft
At 7,800 ft, Glen Aulin HSC is a backpackers paradise. While a wilderness permit is required for overnight trips, this is a moderate enough hike to experience as a day trip if you plan it right! The trail follows the Tuolumne River, passing waterfalls, wildlife, and distant granite peaks until you reach the Glen Aulin High Sierra Camp. From here, you'll get a sneak peak at the Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne. Be bear aware and bring your bug spray!! Happy trails☀️
Remember to recreate responsibly and leave no trace🤍🌎
