The ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐-๐๐๐ ๐๐ก๐๐ฉ๐ญ๐๐ซ extends its deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of our co-Bayaw, Bayaw ๐๐๐ค๐ ๐. ๐๐๐ง๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐จ, whose life touched many through his kindness, humility, and genuine service to others.
Kuya Jake was more than a leaderโhe was a brother, a source of encouragement, and a person whose presence brought comfort and joy to those around him. His dedication, compassion, and sincerity left a lasting impact on the people and community he served. Though his journey ended too soon, the memories he shared and the lives he inspired will forever remain in our hearts.
As we mourn this heartbreaking loss, we also honor the life he lived and the goodness he shared with everyone fortunate enough to know him. May his family find strength and comfort during this difficult time, and may we continue to remember Kuya Jake not only for his leadership, but for the kindness and warmth that defined who he truly was.

Whether Millennial or Gen Z, the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (DABE) of Western Philippines University continues to shape future engineers committed to sustainability, innovation, and resilient communities. ๐ฑ๐
From โengineering principles and sustainable biosystems processesโ to โengineering BUT make it for farms, food, fish, forests, climate, energy, and basically saving the planet,โ the goal remains the same โ applying engineering solutions for agriculture, natural resources, and environmental sustainability. ๐๐งโป๏ธ
Because BSABE is more than just engineering โ itโs designing smarter systems for food, energy, water, climate resilience, and a better future for everyone. ๐

๐ก๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฟ๐ฎ, ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐น๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐ป โ Faculty members from the Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (ABE) program of Western Philippines University (WPU) served as resource speakers and coordinators in the โTraining on Operation, Safety and Maintenance of Rice Machineriesโ held on April 20โ24, 2026, at Crystal Paradise Resort in Narra, Palawan.
Organized and funded by the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI)โRegional Training Center IV-B (MIMAROPA), the five-day activity trained 30 farmers in proper machine operation, safety protocols, and basic maintenance of commonly used rice equipment.
The training addressed the regionโs need to strengthen farm mechanization, as MIMAROPA remains a key rice-producing area but with relatively low mechanization levels. Sessions covered mechanization concepts, types and functions of rice machineries, safety practices, troubleshooting, and standard operating procedures.
Hands-on activities allowed participants to operate a four-wheel tractor and rice combine harvester, reinforcing their technical skills and confidence in using farm machinery.
The initiative supports Sustainable Development Goal 2 (Zero Hunger) by improving agricultural productivity, SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) through skills development, and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) by promoting efficient and sustainable farming practices./DCA
