What an incredible journey it has been!
Today marks the culmination of our Dive SOX Ocean Month Celebration, and we couldn't be more inspired by the massive wave of support from our diving and local community. From exploring the depths to protecting our shores, we’ve proven that Blue Knowledge Drives Resilience.

Our final stretch was nothing short of impactful:

Sarangani Bay Exploratory Dive Assessment: A massive shoutout to Sir Alex Santos, Managing Director of PHILTECH and his team for providing the crucial technical data we need to map and protect our underwater treasures.

Coastal Clean-Up: Turning awareness into action by keeping our coastlines pristine and plastic-free.

The 1st Dive SOX Seamposium: Bringing together over 300+ passionate participants at the Greenleaf Hotel Gensan!

We dived deep into crucial conversations today. We leaned into the vital awareness, programs, and protection frameworks championed by the PCSSD (Philippine Commission on Sports SCUBA Diving) to keep our waters safe and sustainably managed by ED Marco Ancheta of PCSSD. We also confronted the realities of plastic pollution with Dr. Deo Florence Onda and explored the natural coastal shields of mangrove forests with Dr. Jurgenne Primavera.

This isn't just about celebrating the ocean for a month; it’s about a long-term commitment. Together with our amazing partners, divers, scientists, and local communities, we are driving a movement where tourism thrives, community livelihoods are uplifted, and our environment is fiercely sustained.

What an incredible celebration of Ocean Month! The DiveSOX Ocean Month Celebration brought together an unstoppable wave of change-makers for a massive coastal cleanup, Scubasurero, and mangrove planting drive across SOCCSKSARGEN.

This isn't just a one-time event—it’s a movement. By protecting our marine ecosystems, we are securing responsible tourism, sustaining local livelihoods, and driving economic growth for our coastal communities.
Here is what we achieved together:

📊 THE IMPACT TALLY:
11 TONS of residual waste & marine debris cleared from the waters and shores of KALEPA, GenSan, and Maasim!

156 kgs of biodegradable waste properly collected.

100 mangrove propagules planted in Lebak, Sultan Kudarat, safeguarding our coastlines for the future.

A massive THANK YOU to our incredible SOCCSKSARGEN coastal LGUs, local communities, national agencies, the passionate diving community, environmental organizations, and our energetic youth groups. You are the true guardians of our oceans! 🤝🌊
