The reason why we need to invest using investment vehicles is for us to reach our financial goals faster.

Rule of 72 says that if you divide 72 by the interest rate of your current savings/investments, the answer is the number of years your money will double.

If you invest in 4%: 72/4= 18 years
If you invest in 8%: 72/8= 9 years
If you invest in 12%: 72/12= 6 years

If you invest in 1%: 72/1= Your money doubles in 72 years.

This means that if You have 10,000.00 savings now in a 1% annual interest, Your money will become 20,000.00 after 72 years. I hope that You're still alive when that time comes.
