GENERAL TRIAS CITY, Cavite — Residents of Barangay Alingaro were alarmed Thursday morning after the body of an unidentified man was discovered along Sitio Kumba Road.

According to initial reports, a passerby found the victim lying beside the road at around 7:03 a.m. with a sack covering his head and immediately alerted authorities.

Responding officers observed signs of possible foul play and bloodstains near the scene, prompting a thorough investigation. Police are currently working to identify the victim and determine whether the crime was committed at the location or if the body was dumped there afterward.

Authorities are reviewing possible CCTV footage and gathering evidence as part of the ongoing investigation. No suspects have been identified as of this writing.

MARAGONDON, Cavite — Concerned residents are urging pet owners to exercise greater responsibility following a road accident involving a motorcycle rider in Barangay Bucal 1 that was allegedly caused by roaming dogs.

Based on reports, the rider was accompanying a worker to a transportation terminal when the incident happened. While on their way to town, they were reportedly chased by a dog that attempted to bite them. Shortly afterward, another dog suddenly ran across the road, causing the rider to lose balance and crash.

The accident resulted in injuries that were reportedly more serious than simple abrasions.

Following the incident, residents reiterated the importance of responsible pet ownership, emphasizing that dogs should be kept within secured areas or properly restrained to prevent similar accidents and protect both road users and animals.

The family of the injured individuals also hopes that the dog's owner, if identified, will come forward, accept responsibility, and extend assistance to those affected by the incident.

The case serves as a reminder that responsible pet care is not only about the welfare of animals but also about ensuring the safety of the entire community.

Former Cavite 4th District Representative Francisco 'Kiko' Barzaga has hinted at a possible run for governor of Cavite while also considering a career in acting following his expulsion from the House of Representatives.

When asked about his political plans, Barzaga jokingly replied, “Meowmaybe,” regarding a potential gubernatorial bid.

The House voted to expel Barzaga on Tuesday over alleged disruptive and disorderly behavior. Despite the decision, he appeared unfazed, saying, “Life is just weather weather.”

Barzaga said he will focus on personal pursuits for now, including caring for his cats, exploring business opportunities, and possibly entering show business.

Meanwhile, Janette Garin said discussions are ongoing on whether a special election will be held or a caretaker will be appointed for Cavite’s 4th District. Reports estimate that a special election could cost around ₱200 million.
