Tacloban Cops Nab Two Suspects in Drug Bust

Camp Kangleon, Palo, Leyte - The operatives of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit of Police Station 3, Tacloban City Police Office arrested two (2) drug suspects during a buy-bust operation in Brgy. 62, Sagkahan, Tacloban City on April 29, 2024.

Authorities identified the suspects as alias "Liklik", 28 years old, male, a Backhoe Operator and alias “Madam”, 26 years old, female, and jobless. Both suspects reside in the aforementioned barangay and are known as Street-Level individuals (SLIs).

During the operation, seized from the suspects were one (1) heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet of suspected “shabu” (subject of sale), another five (5) heat-sealed sachets of suspected “shabu”, and buy-bust money. An onsite inventory of the recovered evidence was conducted in the presence of invited witnesses as mandated by law. Meanwhile, the weight of the confiscated drug items is yet to be determined by the Regional Forensics Unit 8.

The suspects will face criminal complaints for violation of Sections 5 & 11, Art. II of the R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

PBGEN REYNALDO H PAWID, Regional Director, Police Regional Office 8 lauded the operatives behind the successful operation. “The apprehension of these individuals serves as a clear indication of our ongoing and unwavering commitment to combat the use of illicit drugs within our region. Rest assured, we will persistently strive to hold accountable those who engage in such unlawful behavior,” RD PAWID said.
