Under the leadership of FINSP VISITACION P MARTIRES, Acting Municipal Fire Marshal, personnel of Amulung Fire Station EMS immediately responded to a medical emergency involving an 89-year-old patient at Brgy. Abolo, Amulung, Cagayan.

Upon arrival at the scene, the patient was found unresponsive and with no pulse. Without hesitation, duty EMS personnel promptly initiated continuous Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and sustained life-saving efforts while transporting the patient for emergency medical intervention.

The patient was initially conveyed to Bukas Center Medical Clinic at Brgy. Nangalasauan for possible assessment and declaration. However, the facility was unable to accommodate the patient as they were not authorized to issue a declaration of death nor a death certificate. Consequently, responders, together with the family, immediately transported the patient to Cagayan Valley Medical Center (CVMC) for proper medical evaluation.

Despite relentless efforts exerted by the responding EMS personnel throughout the operation, the attending physician at CVMC officially declared the patient Dead on Arrival (DOA).

This incident reflects the unwavering commitment, dedication, and compassion of Amulung Fire Station responders in delivering emergency medical services and extending every possible effort in the preservation of life.
