ANGONO, RIZAL — Dr. Rich Cangro (Richard M. Cangro, Ph.D.) is a prominent music educator, conductor, and trumpet player. Professor of Music Education and Music Education Coordinator at Western Illinois University, USA, visited the Museo de la Musica during his stay in Angono for a two-day Band and Conducting Workshop.

The visit gave Dr. Cangro an opportunity to explore Angono's rich musical heritage and learn about the town's significant contributions to Philippine music. Among the highlights of the tour were the original manuscripts and musical scores of National Artist for Music Maestro Lucio D. San Pedro, one of Angono's most distinguished cultural figures.

Through the museum's exhibits, Dr. Cangro gained deeper insight into the legacy of Angono's musicians and composers, as well as the community's continuing efforts to preserve and promote its musical traditions.

His visit reflected a shared commitment to music education, cultural preservation, and international collaboration, further strengthening connections between local musicians and the global music community.

The people of Angono warmly welcomed Dr. Cangro and were honored to share with him the town's rich musical history, including the remarkable legacy of Maestro Lucio D. San Pedro, whose music continues to inspire audiences around the world.
