𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒 | SUMULONG COLLEGE OF ARTS AND SCIENCES Reserve Officer Training Corps proudly held the 𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗖𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗢𝗡𝗬 𝗢𝗙 𝗠𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗔𝗥𝗬 𝗦𝗖𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 1 𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗦𝗦 13-2026 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗡 𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥 𝗢𝗙 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗖𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗢𝗡𝗬 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗗𝗢𝗡𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗢𝗙 𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗞𝗦 𝗢𝗙 𝗖𝗔𝗗𝗘𝗧 𝗢𝗙𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗘𝗥𝗦 on 17 July 2026 at the SUMULONG COLLEGE OF ARTS AND SCIENCES GYMNASIUM, with the theme “Empowered to Lead, Guided to Serve.” The donning of ranks symbolized the trust, responsibility, and honor bestowed upon the newly-ranked cadet officers, signifying their readiness to lead with integrity and discipline. Witnessed by mentors, fellow cadets, and supporters, the ceremony marked an important milestone in their journey as leaders.

A warm and cheerful welcome remarks was delivered by 2LT DINDO L SANBUENAVENTURA (RES) PA Tactical Officer SCAS ROTCU, setting a positive tone for the program and inspiring both cadet officers and MS-1 cadets/cadattes to embrace the challenges ahead with confidence.

The event also formally opened the Military Science1, a program designed to train and prepare for greater responsibility through rigorous discipline, leadership development. As highlighted in the inspirational message of our Guest of honor and speaker COL MELGEVAL B HILAO INF (GSC) PA, true empowerment lies not in authority alone, but in the willingness to serve and guide others.

The program was further highlighted by a warm speech from PCOL. EMMANUEL C TABUENA (Ret), RCRIM, DPA, NSTP Coordinator of Sumulong College of Arts and Sciencs. Subsequently, an inspiring and motivating message was delivered by Nerrisa Europa, Dean of Academic Affair.

Through this ceremony, both the newly-ranked officers and the MS-1 Cadets were reminded of their shared mission—to uphold the values of leadership, service, and commitment. Indeed, the theme “Empowered to Lead, Guided to Serve” reflects the Corps’ dedication to forming leaders who will inspire, guide, and serve with honor.

Eventually, the first training week ended with positive results.

This orientation aims to provide essential information about the Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC), including its mission, training program, benefits, and opportunities for personal growth, leadership, discipline, and community service.

The Sumulong College of Arts and Sciences ROTC Unit proudly congratulates the successful completion of the 14-day ROTC Summer Camp Training (RSCT), and 14-day Advance ROTC Academic Phase Training (ARAPT), MS 31–32 by Eight (8) Cadet Officers of Class 03-2026 Batch SINAG-TIKAS.

The training was held at Camp General Macario Sakay, under the 4th Regional Community Defense Group (4RCDG) in Los Baños, Laguna.

Among the 8 graduates are one (1)female and seven (7) male cadets, who have completed 28 days of intensive academic and field training focused on leadership, military discipline, and excellence.

The basic cadets from various courses attended the 𝟭𝟰𝗧𝗛 training week of SCAS-ROTCU, May 2, 2026, SCAS Ground, SCAS Main Campus.

The cadets participated in a comprehensive lecture on Basic Knot Tying and Fire Prevention Awareness by personnel from Antipolo City Fire Station, led by FO3 MIGUEL R MURRILO JR, and others. The activity was conducted under the supervision of two tactical officers led by 2LT DINDO L SAN BUENAVENTURA PA (RES).

During the session, cadets were trained in essential Basic Knot Tying Techniques, including the proper use of knots for securing equipment, rescue operations, and field applications. They also received instruction on Fire Prevention Awareness, focusing on identifying fire hazards, applying safety measures, and understanding proper response procedures in case of emergencies.

The lecture concluded with a hands-on practical application, allowing the cadets to apply various knot-tying methods and demonstrate fire safety practices. This activity reinforced their knowledge and emphasized the importance of preparedness, discipline, and safety in real-life situations.

The training day concludes with the awarding of a certificate for the Antipolo City Fire Station

Eventually, the 𝟭𝟰𝗧𝗛 training weeks ended with positive results.

The basic cadets from various courses attended the 𝟭𝟮𝗧𝗛 and 𝟭𝟯𝗧𝗛 training week of SCAS-ROTCU, April 25, 2026, SCAS Ground, SCAS Main Campus.

The cadets participated in a comprehensive lecture on Basic First Aid and Life Support, facilitated by personnel from Leaders League Training & Adventures Inc., led by Ms. Frances Erika Magalang, EMT, and others. The activity was conducted under the supervision of two tactical officers led by 2LT DINDO L SAN BUENAVENTURA PA (RES).

During the session, cadets were trained in proper bandaging techniques, splinting, wound care management, and the accurate assessment of vital signs. They also received instruction on the correct administration of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), including its indications, limitations, and appropriate patient transfer to a safe zone.The lecture concluded with a hands-on practical application, enabling the cadets to reinforce their knowledge and reflect on the principles of Basic First Aid and Life Support.

The training day concludes with the awarding of a certificate for the personnels from Leaders League Training & Adventures Inc.

The basic cadets from various courses attended the eleventh training week of SCAS-ROTCU, April 24, 2026, SCAS Ground, SCAS Main Campus.

The SCAS ROTC cadets obtained fundamental instruction in military courtesy, proper weapon handling practices, discipline, marching and right facing to prepare them for the upcoming training week.

The ROTC Program was stated in detail, with a focused on learning about Marksmanship. Cadets undergo Marksmanship Training developing precision, discipline, and responsible firearm handling. This essential lesson strengthens focus, confidence, and readiness qualities every cadet must possess in serving with honor and excellence.

These lessons go beyond training they shape us into prepared, disciplined, and dependable future leaders. This was followed by classroom instruction skillfully delivered and led by Sgt Clyde Padlan PA (RES) with supervision of Tactical officers led by 2LT DINDO SAN BUENAVENTURA PA (RES)

Eventually, the eleventh training week ended with positive results.
