LAUNCHING OF SCHOOL-BASED AND COMMUNITY-BASED DEMO PROJECT ON HITO CULTURE

Today, June 18, 2026, marks the successful launching of the School-Based and Community-Based Demo Project on Hito (Catfish) Culture conducted in Paddaya, Maura, and the CSU Land-Based Hatchery.

As part of the project implementation, fingerlings of Hito (Clarias spp.) were distributed and stocked in the respective demonstration sites:
📍 Paddaya – 1,000 fingerlings
📍 Maura – 1,000 fingerlings
📍 CSU Land-Based Hatchery – 2,000 fingerlings

This initiative aims to promote sustainable aquaculture practices, enhance fish production, and provide learning opportunities for students and community stakeholders through hands-on demonstration and technology adoption.

Through collaborative efforts among partner institutions and local communities, the project seeks to strengthen food security, livelihood opportunities, and fisheries development in the locality.
