Spaghetti E-Gaming

I just recently earned a masters degree from the country's most prestigious university, and a part of it was because of gaming. I may have stepped back a bit from gaming to focus on my thesis, but gaming was still a significant part of the two years of my academic study. Gaming became my refuge during the most difficult days. Whenever I needed to recharge, I sneaked in a few minutes of play. It was also a way for me to celebrate. When there was a milestone in my thesis, I rewarded myself by playing for almost an entire day. Because of gaming, I was also able to interact with people - a luxury during the height of the pandemic. Gaming was essential for me to survive the rigors of graduate studies amidst a global health emergency.

My advice to my fellow gamers: study really hard, but play even harder. Don't let adulting stop you from enjoying the things you love doing. Rest and have fun if you must. And the next time anybody tells you that gaming will get you nowhere, show them this success post of a gamer. Haha.

Playing Ragnarok X: Next Generation has been one of the best things that happened to me during this past year. ROX has helped me cope with the COVID-19 pandemic by giving me something worthwhile to do and has provided a much-needed break from my home schooling. ROX challenges me to be creative and skillful to be the best Archbishop as I can be. It taught me how to play smart and spurred in me a healthy sense of competitiveness.

ROX has become a habit and a lifestyle for me. Not an unhealthy addiction, but something that gives me enthusiasm to do other things. While others drink coffee to fuel themselves, I play ROX to be more productive. My day will not be complete without playing ROX. I love playing the game so much that it has inspired me to create my own gaming page (Spaghetti E-Gaming) and upload gaming videos and guides to help other players in this journey.

Perhaps my favorite part of playing ROX is making lots of friends along the way – and I know that many of them will be my friends outside and after the game. They are fun, kind, intelligent, and interesting people from all around Southeast Asia. We may have different cultures and religions but we are united by one thing - a love for gaming and playing ROX. When I am done with my studies and getting sick from a pandemic is not anymore a worry, I will surely visit some of them.
