Chasing With Charles

I went to see Dear Evan Hansen, the Tony, Oliver, and Grammy award-winning musical, on its closing week run at The Theatre at Solaire.

A tale of connection, loneliness, and the desperate search for belonging, DEH has always held a special place in my heart. On a personal note, its soundtrack has been my comfort playlist since 2019, especially during the quiet and heavy days of the pandemic. Finally seeing it live felt surreal. I found myself teary-eyed even before the first notes settled in.

“Having goosebumps” doesn’t even begin to describe it. The performances of You Will Be Found and Words Fail struck straight to the core, raw, aching, and unforgettable. My only regret? Not bringing tissue paper. I ended up wiping my “waterfall tears” with my bare hands.

All in all, it was an experience. One that reminded me of the power of music, theater, and the shared humanity that binds us all.
