Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla on Friday said authorities remain confident they will eventually arrest fugitives former lawmaker Zaldy Co, businessman Charlie “Atong” Ang, and former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque.

Remulla said the government continues to coordinate with Interpol in seeking a Red Notice against Co, who faces graft and malversation charges over an alleged ₱289.5-million anomalous flood control project in Oriental Mindoro. Co is believed to be staying in Paris, France.

He also said authorities are awaiting Interpol’s decision on a Red Notice request against Roque, who is facing human traff*cking allegations linked to the Lucky South 99 scam hub in Pampanga. Roque is reportedly in Austria seeking asylum after his passport was cancelled last year.

Meanwhile, Remulla confirmed that Ang remains in the Philippines and was last spotted in Cavite about a month ago. Authorities failed to arrest him during a recent operation after he allegedly fled before police arrived. Ang faces non-bailable k*dnapping and serious illegal detention charges tied to the disappearance of 34 cockfighting enthusiasts. Twenty of his co-accused are already in custody, while the government has offered a ₱20-million reward for information leading to his arrest.
