₱1.5 MILLION WORTH OF ALLEGED NON-COMPLIANT SOLAR LIGHTS, PANELS SEIZED IN BULACAN OPERATION

The Philippine National Police (PNP) continues to strengthen its efforts to protect the public through intensified law enforcement operations, as the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) seized an estimated ₱1.54 million worth of alleged substandard solar lights and panels during an operation in Bulacan.

On June 30, 2026 until the early hours of July 1, 2026, personnel of the CIDG Eastern Metro Manila District Field Unit, in coordination with local police units, conducted an operation at a warehouse in Barangay Matungao, Bulakan, Bulacan, which led to the apprehension of a male suspect identified by the alias “Han,” 35, a Chinese national and businessman.

The operation was conducted in connection with the alleged violation of Republic Act No. 7394 or the Consumer Act of the Philippines, following the discovery of solar lights and panels that were allegedly not compliant with prescribed safety and quality standards.

The PNP, through the leadership of Chief PNP Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., emphasized that operations such as this reflect the organization’s commitment to safeguarding communities and supporting government efforts to ensure that consumers are protected from potentially unsafe products.

“Patuloy ang ating pagtutok sa mga operasyon na may direktang epekto sa kaligtasan at kapakanan ng ating mga kababayan. Ang bawat aksyon ng PNP ay isinasagawa nang naaayon sa batas at may respeto sa karapatan ng lahat ng sangkot,” Police General Nartatez said.

The operation is aligned with the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly under Enhanced Managing Police Operations, which promotes responsive and effective police action through coordinated efforts and lawful enforcement initiatives. It also supports the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to strengthen public safety and uphold the welfare of Filipino consumers.

The PNP remains committed to delivering accountable and service-oriented policing under the banner of “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman,” as it continues to work with partner agencies in promoting a safer and more secure environment for all.
