I hope I make my cat happy, just as she makes me, because her joy is the light that keeps my days warm. When she curls up beside me, purring softly, I feel like I’ve done something right in this world. Her trust in me is so pure, so unspoken, that I sometimes wonder if I deserve it. Every gentle blink of her eyes feels like a thank-you, and I silently pray that she knows how deeply loved she is. She gives me comfort without asking for anything but love in return. I hope every meal I serve, every scratch behind her ears, every cozy blanket I lay out makes her feel cherished. The way she greets me with excitement makes me believe I matter in her little world. I can only wish that she feels the same happiness I feel when she’s near. My greatest hope is that she never doubts how important she is to me. Because in my heart, her happiness is my own.
