📢 CALL FOR NATIONAL ACTION: DECLARATION OF A STATE OF EMERGENCY ON FUEL PRICE CRISIS

In light of the continuing and rapid increase in fuel prices, we respectfully call on the National Government to consider the declaration of a State of Emergency to address its widespread impact on the Filipino people.

The persistent surge in fuel costs has significantly affected the cost of basic goods and services, placing immense pressure on our economy—most especially on vulnerable sectors such as farmers, fisherfolk, and transport groups. These sectors are the backbone of our food security and mobility, yet they are among the hardest hit by this ongoing crisis.

A declaration of a State of Emergency will empower both national agencies and Local Government Units (LGUs) to:• Expedite the release of emergency funds and subsidies• Implement targeted fuel assistance programs• Strengthen price monitoring and prevent profiteering• Provide immediate relief to affected communities

We believe that urgent, decisive, and coordinated action is necessary to protect livelihoods, stabilize prices, and ensure that no Filipino is left behind during this challenging time.

We urge our leaders to act swiftly and compassionately in the interest of the general welfare.
