"NURTURING EMPOWERMENT AT HOME: A PARENT EFFECTIVENESS SESSION"
The Bontoc Child Development Workers' Federation -BCDWsF together with the parents of each CDCs from the different barangays attended the PES conducted by the PSWDO in partnership with the MSWDO held on May 4, 2026 at the Municipal Auditorium.
This PES was conducted to equip parents with knowledge and skills essential for effective parenting, child
health, and family welfare.
The first resource speaker was Ms. Mary Dianne Monte, a District Nutrition Program Coordinator who discussed the "Basic Child Health, Nutrition, and Preventive Care" wherein the topics covered include:
- Pinggang Pinoy (balanced diet guide)
- Maternal Health Care
- Importance of the "First 1,000 Days" of a childโs life
Furthermore, group activities/workshops were also made after the discussion.
The second resource speaker was PCPT Peter Apangcay, a Deputy of PCADU who discussed about Responsible Parenthood and Child Protection Laws/Policies. These topics emphasized the rights and responsibilities of parents, as well as legal frameworks designed to protect children.
The session successfully addressed key areas of parenting and child welfare. Participants gained valuable insights on proper nutrition, health care, and legal protection for children.

Women play vital roles in building stronger, more inclusive societies. Let's commit to creating spaces where every woman can thrive, lead, and shine. HAPPY WOMEN'S DAY! ๐

The Local Government Unit of Bontoc proudly celebrated the 33rd NATIONAL CHILDREN'S MONTH with the๐
THEME: "Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of
Children(OSAEC) and Children sexual Abuse
and Exploitation Materials(CSAEM) Wakasan:
Kaligtasan at Karapatan ng Bata Ipaglaban!"
The event held on November 20, 2025 at the Municipal Auditorium showcased the talents and vibrant spirit of our young learners from the 29 CDCs of Bontoc. Young learners participated in the three categories: a. Singing, b. Declamation, and c. Draw and Tell highlighting their cultural heritage and promoting their rights. This celebration served as a powerful reminder of our collective responsibility to ensure a safe and nurturing environment for every child in Bontoc.
Municipal Mayor Hon. Franklin C. Odsey was also present and shared a wonderful message to everybody. On the other hand, Councilor Hon. Mila Fang-asan made the closing remark.
Furthermore, the three judges invited were: Ms. Annie A. Wallang, Ms. Chamreine C. Casiwen, and Ms. Herminia T. Samelo.
The Bontoc Child Development Workers' Federation -BCDWsF together with the MSWDO staffs work hand in hand for the success of the said activity. As the sayings goes,
