Empowering Young Entrepreneurs!

The Department of Trade and Industry – Youth Entrepreneurship Program: You Can Be Your Own Boss (YEP! BYOB), in partnership with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Project MARiTES and Mountain Province State University (MPSU), successfully concluded its 4-day intensive entrepreneurship training held last July 14–17, 2025.

Designed to empower young Filipinos with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to start their own businesses, the program guided 20 youth participants through a 32-hour entrepreneurship bootcamp focused on fostering an entrepreneurial mindset and business acumen.

The training featured four key modules — My Business, My Customers and Operations, My Resources and Finances, and My Business Pitch — covering 19 essential topics on opportunity identification, customer engagement, financial management, and life skills.

By the end of the program, 19 proud graduates successfully developed and presented their business plans, showcasing their creativity, critical thinking, and readiness to become self-reliant entrepreneurs.

Through this initiative, DTI, CHED and MPSU continue to invest in the future of young Filipino innovators and changemakers.

Since student and faculty participation will be restricted due to the NSTP and PE14 requirements, as well as the various equally important matters to be attended by our respective faculties, an emergency meeting was conducted at the BSBA simulation room from 2:15-4:00pm with BSBA officers and BSBA chairperson in attendance.

Despite the pre-paid venue and prior arrangements with PYDO head as guest speaker and a line-up of performers. It has been decided that the event should not push through with potentially limited attendees. To ensure a more engaging and enjoyable celebration, the program will be postponed and the student organizations are going to conduct further planning and evaluation with a Tri-org meeting of officers and a General assembly.
Inputs from the student body will be once again welcomed and we thank the cooperation of JMO, JFINEX and the BASO officers and adviser in handling this matter.
