SUPERVISION OF SUPREME STUDENT GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS – FEBRUARY 19, 2014
The SSG conducted the 2014 SSG Elections last February 19, 2014 as pursuant to the Revised Standard Constitution and By-Laws of the Supreme Student Government in Secondary Schools (DepEd Order No. 79, s.2009) Article VIII, Section 4.
Here are the activities done in line with the said elections:
February 4, 2014 – The SSG Commission on Elections (COMELEC), the only agency that will manage the electoral processes, was established. The 11 members of the agency was appointed by Mrs. Lerma G. Go, SSG adviser.
February 6, 2014 – The conduct of the 2014 SSG Elections was announced by the SSG COMELEC members and fourth year SSG officers on every classroom. The announcement was then posted in the classroom (in case students have more inquiries).
February 6,-11, 2014 – Interested students to run for the elections applied / filed for candidacy at the assigned SSG COMELEC members at TLE Building Site II.
February 12, 2014 (A.M.) – The SSG COMELEC evaluated the certificates for candidacy for qualification or disqualification. There were 38 candidates in all – from two parties namely Partido Action-Making and Deliberating Enthusiasm through Unified Students (AMADEUS) party and Students Obtaining Happiness Courage and Hope towards Optimistic Attitude (SOHCAHTOA) Party and the two independent candidates.
February 12, 2014 (P.M.) – The official list of candidates was announced to the studentry. The official candidates were also called to attend an orientation meeting at the TLE Building Site II. Candidates were oriented about the election activities and guidelines.
February 13-18, 2014 – This was the campaign period where candidates posted posters, had a room-to-room campaign, and convinced the students to vote for them.
February 18, 2014 – Candidates faced the studentry to clarify their stand and principles on why they are running for their sought SSG position. Questions were also raised by the students and answered by the candidates. This was done at BNHS Site II.
February 19, 2014 – The voting procedures were done on every classroom. Candidates with highest votes in their respective positions were then proclaimed as the winners and duly elected 2014-2015 SSG officers by the SSG COMELEC immediately after canvassing all the votes from each classroom. It was done announced to the studentry.
PARTICIPATION AND SUPPORT IN THE SYMPOSIUM REGARDING IMPLEMENTING LAWS ON ANTI-VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN AND CHILDREN AND THE JUVENILE JUSTICE WELFARE ACT (RA 9344) – NOVEMBER 21, 2013
The SSG officers actively joined and supported the symposium conducted by the Philippine National Police (PNP) – Bulusan led by PSI Ryan C. Atanacio. They also helped in maintaining the students’ crowd.

SUPERVISION OF THE NATIONAL TEACHERS’ MONTH AND WORLD’S TEACHERS DAY CELEBRATION – SEPTEMBER 5, 2013 UNTIL OCTOBER 5, 2013
The SSG led and organized the activities for the celebration of the National Teachers’ Month and World Teachers’ Day last September 5, 2013 until October 5, 2013.
September 5, 2013 and so on... – The SSG disseminated the information about the celebration to increase the students’ awareness. They also invited the students, and some alumni, to say thank you to the teachers that made a difference to their lives personally or through a letter, a card, a FB status, a gift or others.
September 20, 2013 – Several contests like essay writing, poem writing, poster making, slogan making, and thank you card design & text contest with different themes related to “My Teacher, My Hero” were conducted simultaneously at BNHS Site II to honor BNHS teachers.
October 2, 2013 – Awarding of winners on the simultaneous contests, giving messages, offering gifts, games for teachers were conducted at BNHS Site I to culminate the celebration.
October 3, 2014 – The school bell was sounded at exactly 10:05 A.M. on both sites to remind the students of the World Teachers Day on October 5, 2013. Led by SSG officers, the National Prayer for Teachers was recited by students (English at Site I and Filipino at Site II) immediately after the ringing of the bells.
