The Republic Act 11927 or the “Philippine Digital Workforce Competitiveness Act” is now a Law!

The Digital Workforce Competitiveness Act lapsed into law last July 30, 2022. It seeks to guarantee the development of the country’s Digital Workforce by providing Filipinos with better digital skills.

The law will enable the government to enter public-private partnerships with industry experts, IT-BPO associations, private companies, and other stakeholders to plan and implement training, skills development, and certification programs for digital careers. It also aims to leverage the already accelerating growth of the gig economy in the country.

Under the law passage, the Inter-Agency Council for Development and Competitiveness of the Philippine Digital Workforce includes the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) as one of its Council members.
