HAPPENING NOW: The College of Health Sciences (COHS) BSN Class of 2029 – Batch Vitalis officially begins its 49th Capping, Badge Investiture, and Candle Lighting Ceremony at the Capitol University Gymnasium today.

The ceremony marks an important milestone in the journey of the future nurses. As they receive their caps, badges, and the symbolic light, they take one step closer to becoming officially recognized student nurses. It also celebrates the unwavering support of the faculty, families, and the entire academic community as they continue their path toward the nursing profession.

IN PHOTOS: CU - College of Education Student Body Organization Conducts “StartED,” An Orientation For Freshmen

The CU - College of Education Student Body Organization (CU-CESBO) kicked off the academic year 2026-2027 with an insightful and welcoming start by organizing an orientation for freshmen on July 4, 2026, at AVR 3 & 4. With the theme, "StartED: A Freshman Orientation," the new future educators gained important information mainly about CU's offices, resources, services, and directions that underpin their academic journey ahead.

The event officially began with opening remarks by Mr. Chrysler John P. Utlang, CESBO President, setting the tone for the orientation. The program continued with talks about departmental insights and guidance by Dr. Andrews Maquiling, Dean of the College of Education, and Mr. Elijah James I. Gargar, College Faculty. Following these college particulars, introductions to different university offices and resources took place: Ms. Adenisa Andig, ICTS Staff, from ICTS Office; Mrs. Dalia Buslon Briones, Assessment Office and Cashier Head; Mr. Vincent Abecia, Guidance Facilitator; Mr. Jhou Peter Demetrio, Assistant University Registrar; and Mr. Gregorie Japus, the new Head of the Security Office and PPFMO, who talked about the distribution of the university's materials and equipment.

Right after the successive talks, the freshmen took a break with a performance, mini-games, and time to reflect on the field they are yet to committedly take. The event was officially closed with closing remarks from Ms. Jeremae Estimo, College Faculty, and Mr. Vincent Oclarit, CESBO Adviser, expressing deep gratitude to the newcomers for choosing education and attending the orientation.
