We’ve received a lot of questions lately asking if we still produce Greek yogurt. Unfortunately, we no longer do. The good news? Making Greek yogurt is actually very simple—and you can easily do it at home. Let us show you how.

So, what is Greek yogurt?
Greek yogurt is simply regular yogurt that has been strained to remove the liquid whey.

To make it, pour your Geli Creamy Whole Milk Plain Yogurt in a cheesecloth or fine-mesh strainer. As it sits, the watery whey slowly drains away, leaving behind yogurt that is thicker, creamier, and more concentrated. When about half of the liquid has drained, what remains is your homemade Greek yogurt.

Simple, natural, and delicious—just the way yogurt should be.

Greek Yogurt vs. Greek-Style Yogurt
Authentic Greek yogurt gets its thickness from straining. On the other hand, “Greek-style” yogurt is often thickened using additives like cornstarch or gelatin to mimic the texture—without the naturally higher protein content.
