Strengthening community-based programs through collaboration and commitment.

The National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) Region X under the leadership of Regional Director Mary Jean H. Asum, CESE, MPA conducted an online meeting with Local Government Unit (LGU) officials across the region to discuss the implementation of Republic Act No. 7876 and the establishment of Senior Citizens Centers (SCCs) in every LGU.

The discussion highlighted the vital role of partnership and shared responsibility in creating accessible, safe, and supportive spaces that promote the welfare, participation, and well-being of older persons. Through the continuous establishment and enhancement of Senior Citizens Centers, we move closer to ensuring that every senior citizen has access to programs, services, and opportunities that support active and dignified aging.

Together, we remain committed to building age-friendly and inclusive communities where our senior citizens are valued, empowered, and cared for.

Mabuhay ang mga nakatatanda

Speaker Bojie Dy, nagpahayag ng suporta sa pagsusulong ng Universal Social Pension para sa mga senior citizen

Ipinahayag ng ating katuwang sa partido, House Speaker Faustino "Bojie" Dy III, ang kanyang suporta sa panukalang batas na magbibigay ng social pension para sa lahat ng senior citizens sa buong bansa. Ito ay matapos pormal na tanggapin ang mahigit isang milyong lagda mula sa iba't ibang sektor na nagkakaisa para sa layuning ito.

Sa kasalukuyan, ang programang nagkakaloob ng P1,000 na buwanang pension ay limitado lamang sa mga kuwalipikadong indigent o mahihirap na nakatatanda, ngunit sa pamamagitan ng panukalang batas na kasalukuyang nakabinbin sa House Committee on Appropriations, isinusulong ang pagiging unibersal nito.

"I believe that true service starts with listening, understanding, compassion, and love... Given the costs of medicine, food and health care, our seniors must be provided support to help them afford all of their basic needs," ani Speaker Dy. "Let us always remember: The true measure of a nation is how it cares for its most vulnerable citizens."

Sa ilalim ng administrasyong Bagong Pilipinas at ng Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), patuloy nating itataguyod ang mga makatao, makatarungan, at inklusibong programa para sa bawat pamilyang Pilipino kung saan walang maiiwan.

Strengthening Partnerships and Promoting Senior-Friendly Communities

The National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) Region X paid a courtesy visit to Mayor Pizarro of Don Carlos, Bukidnon to discuss NCSC programs and initiatives for the welfare of senior citizens. The team also visited the Senior Citizen Center in Barangay Bokbok, Don Carlos, in support of the implementation of Republic Act No. 7876, or the Senior Citizens Center Act of the Philippines.

This activity highlights the shared commitment of NCSC Region X and the Local Government Unit of Don Carlos to establish accessible, safe, and inclusive spaces that foster the well-being, empowerment, and active participation of senior citizens in community life.
