ordinary summer (.rdinarysummer) is based in Calamba City, Laguna — and it includes five pieces of coffee, and energy drinks that plays with crazy sounds of shoegaze, midwest-emo, post-rock, pop punk, and skramz (screamo).

Sleepless nights, suburban sounds, and a desire to yell into the dark are what led the band ordinary summer to stop playing music and start unleashing it. Their music makes me feel like I’m living through heartbreak at night, a realization by the side of the road, or the rush of rain after persisting heat. It’s filled with emotion — and it shows up as it is, and can be messy. But it’s what this generation craves.

All these personalities, with a splash of distortion, deep lyrics, and a passion for every musical moment — add up to a powerful energy. Either when they’re blurring every sound through feedback or creating palpable sorrows using open tunings, this band reaches out to make you part of their universe.
