Find your purpose in life, and inspire those who need it.🧡✨

Michael Platt, a 13-year-old from Maryland, is using his bakery, Michaels Desserts, to make a difference.

For every dessert he sells, he donates treats to local shelters and promotes social equality with specially themed cupcakes. His creations honor inspiring figures like MLK Jr. and Maya Angelou, spreading purpose and positivity through baking.

Henry Darby is the principal of North Charleston High School in South Carolina. During the day, he's a devoted school leader.

Outside of school hours, Darby works three overnight shifts each week from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m., wearing a Walmart vest and stocking shelves. Every dollar he earns is quietly given to students facing challenges like food insecurity, unstable housing, or unmet basic needs. “As long as there’s a child in need, I’ll do what I can,” Henry has shared.

For a long time, only a small circle knew about his second job. The story gradually surfaced after a Walmart coworker recognized him as a school principal. Once shared publicly, his kindness resonated widely, inspiring a community member to launch a GoFundMe campaign. Donations poured in, raising more than $190,000 to help families cover rent, utilities, and groceries.

Darby says the true reward isn’t recognition or money, but watching students gain confidence and hope. He continues his work to show students that honest work carries dignity and purpose.

On November 16, the HIRAYA Scholars successfully conducted their first Out-of-School Program held at Southville VI Christian Church. The event featured several community-centered activities including a feeding program, donation giving, clean-up drive, and a meaningful Values Education Session for the participants. Scholars worked together in preparing meals, distributing essentials, and guiding the children through engaging and educational activities, creating a warm and supportive environment for everyone who attended.
The program was led by the HIRAYA Scholars and guided by HIRAYA leader Ma'am Anna Emanel with the purpose of empowering young leaders to serve and inspire their community. Through this initiative, the scholars showcased their commitment, compassion, and willingness to take part in community-building efforts.
The event not only supported the needs of the children and families in the area but also strengthened the scholars’ sense of responsibility and service, marking a positive impact that HIRAYA aims to continue in future community programs. We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to School Principal Rodel Capinpin for his unwavering support, guidance, and trust in the HIRAYA Scholars.
“Sa pamamagitan ng programang ito, nawa’y patuloy naming maitaguyod ang diwa ng pagtutulungan at malasakit. Ang HIRAYA Scholars ay mananatiling nagsisilbi at nagbibigay-inspirasyon sa komunidad, para sa mas makulay at mas maunlad na kinabukasan para sa lahat.” - HIRAYA

A DAY OF GIVING AND GRATITUDE🫡🤗🧡💚
The HIRAYA Project, in collaboration with Project Inspire, once again celebrated the true spirit of compassion, learning, and community service during its outreach event held last October 8, 2025. It was a meaningful day dedicated to empowering young learners and strengthening the bond of volunteerism among partners and sponsors. 💚🧡
During the event, HIRAYA Scholars joyfully received their allowances and technological learning kits with modules, made possible through the generosity of Sir Pong Andaya, IECEP Laguna Governor Chapter. Your unwavering support and dedication to education continue to inspire hope and growth among our scholars — thank you, Sir Pong, for being a steadfast partner in our mission! 🙏
Our heartfelt appreciation also goes to the Laguna Student Chapter (LSC), headed by their active and compassionate President Ms. Reinaliza Batalan, for their volunteer efforts in organizing a feeding program for selected Grade 5 learners and Grade 1 pupils. 🍱 Your kindness nourished both the body and the heart of every child served, thank you LSC for being an extended generosity by donating books and pantry supplies in support of Ma’am Anna’s Small Pantry Corner🤗📚
Special thanks as well to the Grade 5 teachers and parents who took part in this event. Your presence and cooperation helped make the activity more meaningful and memorable for everyone involved.
Truly, this collaboration between Project HIRAYA and Project Inspire showcases the power of unity and shared vision — to nurture dreams, uplift learners, and inspire hope through education and community service. ✨
