The 2nd Day of Orientation on the University Guidelines for IM Preparation and Instructional Material Development and Writeshop organized by the Office of Flexible Learning successfully concluded on August 13, 2024. The day was marked by in-depth discussions and hands-on activities, furthering the university's commitment to enhancing the quality of its instructional resources.
Dr. Kristofer Conrad M. Tejada, Associate Professor V from Batangas State University, continued his presentations, focusing on key aspects of instructional materials development. His discussions covered a wide range of topics, including the External and Internal Factors that influence the creation of Instructional Materials, Models of Instructional Material Development (IMD), Criteria for Evaluating Instructional Content, and the Importance of Gender Sensitivity and Equality in the Development Process. Dr. Tejada also provided a comprehensive overview of the Module Development Process, emphasizing the need for planning and alignment with educational standards.
The afternoon session transitioned into the practical application of the concepts discussed wherein selected faculty members from all colleges of MinSU were tasked with preparing module outlines. This hands-on writeshop allowed the faculty members to apply the theoretical knowledge gained throughout the seminar to the development of instructional materials tailored to their respective fields.
Following the creation of the module outlines, a critiquing session was held where the participants received constructive feedback and suggestion from resource speaker. This critical evaluation process was designed to refine the instructional materials and ensure they meet the universityβs standards of quality and effectiveness.
The two-day writeshop concluded with the awarding of certificates to the resource speakers and participants. Dr. Marinel V. Burgos, Director of the Flexible Learning Unit, expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the unwavering support and dedication of the institution and the efforts of all participants in making this initiative a success.
