I’m just gonna say it… Autism + ADHD (AuDHD) videos p**s me off because it’s the same damn thing every time.

They’ll joke about how autistic = methodical and ADHD = reckless
and people with both are internally contradicted.

But the way MY autism and ADHD show up is never talked about.

ADHD gives me an almost insatiable need for intensity.
I’m drawn to energy, to urgency, to spicy food, and problems that need solving. The only way I can get my brain online is when there’s some kind of pressure.

And lots of ADHD people chase intensity by doing risky things…driving fast, breaking rules, picking fights, just to feel alive.

But I’m also autistic, so I don’t engage in risk taking, not because I’m a rule follower but because one of the core features of autism is trouble initiating social interaction.

That means I don’t insert myself into discussions, I don’t naturally enter new social environments.

My brain loves friction, and substance, but I often can’t open the social doorway to where those things live.

And that’s the part of the AuDHD experience that never shows up online.
The version where your brain craves intensity, but your autism makes it incredibly hard to initiate the interactions required to find it.
