The Calumpit Municipal Hall is a classic example of Philippine from the 1930s.
This style, popular during the American colonial era, features streamlined geometric forms, ziggurat-like stepped profiles, vertical emphasis, sunburst motifs, and decorative grills or panels that blend modernity with local influences.

Designed by renowned Filipino architect Juan Arellano (known for landmarks like the Metropolitan Theater and Provincial Capitol), the Calumpit Municipal Hall shares an almost identical “twin” design with the Sariaya Municipal Hall (Quezon) and the Old Jaro Municipal Hall (Iloilo). These are often called “Asignan-type” halls for their similar Art Deco elements, including stepped facades, geometric patterns, and a compact yet dignified two-story structure.

It remains a functional government building in the town proper and is recognized in lists of Philippine Art Deco heritage. (Grok4.1)
