We just celebrated International Women's day last March 8. It is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.
... but did you know that we also have a celebration to recognize all the men in our society? International Men's Day is celebrated every November 19. It is an occasion for men to celebrate their achievements and contributions, in particular their contributions to community, family, marriage, and child care while highlighting the discrimination against them.

The Philippines ranked 7th out of 144 countries surveyed in the WEF's Global Gender Gap Report in 2016 and ranked first among Asia-Pacific nations in narrowing the gap between women and men.

GAD day to all of us!

The Department of Information and Communications Technology will celebrate the International Girls (Young Women) in ICT Day on 25th of April 2019. It is an initiative backed by all ITU Member States (including Philippines) during the ITU Plenipotentiary Resolution 70 (Rev. Busan, 2014) , and it aims to create global environment that empowers and encourages girls and young women to consider careers in the growing field of ICT's, enbaling both girls and technology companies to reap benefits of greater female participation in the ICT sector.

Our department has lined up various activities to join in the celebration.

The only way to solve the problem of women's subordination is to change people's mindset and to plant the new idea of gender equality into every mind.
