UEP-CVM Conducts Annual “𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐭 𝐃𝐚𝐭 𝐃𝐨𝐠” 𝐑𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐕𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞

The UEPCVM Extension Office, led by Dr. Rey Anthony D. Galo, will conduct the annual “S𝐡o𝐭 𝐃a𝐭 𝐃o𝐠” R𝐚b𝐢e𝐬 𝐕a𝐜c𝐢n𝐚t𝐢o𝐧 𝐃r𝐢v𝐞 in celebration of 𝗥𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 and as part of 𝐕e𝐭 𝐃a𝐲s 2𝟎2𝟔. The activity is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus UEP Council 5744, PetServ Animal Clinic, Dr. Maria Lorna Sanico Baculanta, and Dr. Rebecca Costuna Goyena.

Rabies remains a fatal but preventable disease affecting both animals and humans. Vaccination is the most effective way to protect pets and the community.

The free vaccination drive will be held on 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟒, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, from 𝟖:𝟎𝟎 AM to 𝟏𝟐:𝟎𝟎 PM at the 𝐂𝐕𝐌 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐕𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 of the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Eastern Philippines.

Only 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝗽𝗲𝘁𝘀 at 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝗼𝗹𝗱 will be vaccinated. Pregnant, lactating, recently parturient, sick, tick-infested, or medicated animals will not be accepted.

The activity will be supervised by the Clinical Instructors of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital with the assistance of the junior and senior veterinary clinicians. 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶-𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘃𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗱𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis until supplies last. An additional activity which will also be conducted is a film showing on rabies and responsible pet ownership at the Pharma/Physio room of UEPCVM.

Through this initiative, UEP-CVM continues its commitment to responsible pet ownership and rabies prevention in the community.
